About ZRDI

Founded to resolve the practical barriers that keep people from rebuilding.

We are a registered South African non-profit company operating across South Africa and Zimbabwe, committed to structured, dignified reintegration.

Our Origin

Our Story

ZRDI was founded to address a simple but persistent problem: the practical, everyday barriers that keep people from reintegrating successfully after displacement, migration, or relocation.

We are a registered non-profit company in South Africa, governed under the Companies Act 71 of 2008, with a full governance structure in place, from our founding documents to our board and operating policies.

A message from our Executive Director

“

Welcome to ZRDI.

At the Zimbabwe Reintegration and Development Initiative (ZRDI) NPC, we believe every person transitioning across borders, or rebuilding a life after return, deserves to do so with dignity, structure, and real opportunity.

ZRDI exists as a structured bridge for returning Zimbabwean migrants, diaspora members, and local host communities. Through practical support in documentation, community liaison, skills development, and sustainable livelihoods, we help people move from uncertainty toward lasting self-reliance and social cohesion.

We cannot do this work alone. We invite partners, donors, government stakeholders, and community members to walk with us as we build clear, accountable pathways toward a more resilient and inclusive future.

OUR VISION

Dignity in every return.

A future in which Zimbabweans reintegrating into their home communities, or resettling in South Africa, have the documentation, skills, and support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity.

OUR MISSION

Practical, structured support.

We support the reintegration and development of Zimbabweans through practical assistance with documentation, skills development, and community liaison, working alongside communities, local authorities, and partner organisations.
